I can't think of anyone else of notable skill that isn't already listed here: team-roster
does anyone think some people should be shifted from "on team" to/from "maybes"?
actually, ive been thinking and i believe that Steven plikda ( sorry for the mis-spelling of your name ) should be on the definite team. but also, i have something to tell you through some other means.

Steven Plichta was deffinately mvp at todays practice and jp u saw how many he cought, dove for, and how beat up he was after practice. mind u the guy is also probably beat up from playing rugby. at least u should put him at the top of the subs/maybes
hell yeah steven was explosive today (in a good way). honestly, for both team 7 and subs there is absolutely no order. i don't feel like creating situations where i need to compare everyone and their strengths and weaknesses. weeeell i'll go try and order it, i guess. see what you think..
i want some opinions on liam johnston
i think he has potential
thoughts?
well i have two questions, not about liam though sorry. since this team is not connected to khs []in the way that its not an official khs team or sport[], will people stay on the team if theyre in college, i understand obviously if their college is in another state they probably wouldnt, but what about people going to close colleges. also i know the 8 picked are the best, but if someone practices enough are they able to challenge someone for their spot or is the roster permanent for a season?
i was thinking of passing on admin-hood to brandon godfrey or salim raal or someone else once i leave KHS
well the team is lossely affiliated with KHS but that italicized message at the bottom was so that KHS couldn't get blamed for any content on the site
the roster is in no way permanent! the point of the "maybes" is so they can come to our practices and improve
the definites will be the people who would be the "starting" team at games, and the maybes would be subs
i already updated the roster a couple times since i made it
basically don't worry if you're a maybe and not a definite because the fact is you were picked from the many that are in the club to be on the "team". be proud
i find it funny that Goodyear isn't here
hahahahaha
haha ya i expected him to complain about that and i hear he has. haha just curious, im pretty sure he has enough skill, so is his absence due to his tendency to huck the disc whenever he gets it, or his tendency to be annoying?
Yeah about that Johnny and all officers, I talked to Goodyear, well actually, he came to me and he was pretty distressed on the fact that he wasn't even on the maybe list/sub list. He made a good argument that, he should be on the team really. I agree to it, he has been to every single game/practice during the summer and during the school season. He is rather skilled compared to others. He has also been in charge of organizing in the past every once in a while games or events that I haven't been able to organize and if it wasn't for him some of those games wouldn't have been attended.
I realize that most people think rather lowly of him. I understand why, I mean he does have his tendency to have fits and act wrong. He may overreact sometimes but it's really a result of the environment. And yes he does have a tendency as well to huck it.
But the thing is, he really wants to be on the team or at least on the maybe list. I confronted with the problems why he wasn't possibly chosen saying that what's really hindering him from progressing is his attitude towards others and the game. That and well sometimes just pulling it way too far/hucking it. He realized this and said that he'll work on his attitude and improving his overall sportsmanship/bad tendencies.
Last game he did definitely seem to improve in a lot of fields. It was more of a short pass teamwork and he seemed to have more self control.
I think he has potential to be a player. Also, the maybes really are the trial members of the team. Therefore, I believe that he deserves a chance as any other. Besides, he's a senior and he has shown loyalties towards frisbee. What's really holding us back from giving him the first and last chance to be a part of something big?
Also, I feel that the officers have to not only monitor skills on the team but the team interaction. We definitely have to be more supportive than anything and thrive off of each other than create a division within the team. So, also the trial members will be "scored"/judged on that as well I feel.
interesting suggestions to me, dan, considering i'm calling the final shots on the team issue.
my final decision on this matter was if i thought goodyear's talent was enough to compensate for his horrific language usage and/or tendency to just throw the disc away, try to show off, or throw fits when he messes up OR does well he'd be here. Of course he has potential, but his un-sportsmanship clouds it. I don't really have too much of a problem with the dude, i just don't want to send him to other schools and him give us a bad reputation.
plus, check out the UPA website. there's an official rule in ultimate that's called "spirit of the game"
From Section 1. Introduction, item B. "Spirit of the Game. Ultimate relies upon a spirit of sportsmanship that places the responsibility for fair play on the player. Highly competitive play is encouraged, but never at the expense of mutual respect among competitors, adherence to the agreed upon rules, or the basic joy of play. Protection of these vital elements serves to eliminate unsportsmanlike conduct from the Ultimate field. Such actions as taunting opposing players, dangerous aggression, belligerent intimidation, intentional infractions, or other 'win-at-all-costs' behavior are contrary to the Spirit of the Game and must be avoided by all players."
He just doesn't seem to follow the gist of that.
if he wants in, he should talk to me.
i didnt mean to bring up a personal assult on goodyear by the way, i just wanted to share my laughter… which kindof makes me an asshole but my bad…. :-D
